"I will not let thee go, except thou bless me."
Jacob wrestles through the night with a man who turns out to be more than a man. His hip is put out of joint and he still will not let go. At daybreak he is given a new name, ΙΣΡΑΗΛ, Israel: one who has striven with God and prevailed.
On the back, Gustave Doré's engraving of the struggle from his 1866 Bible, with the name cut out of the engraved sky above them.
"And he said, Let me go, for the day breaketh. And he said, I will not let thee go, except thou bless me." Genesis 32:26
