The confession of the catacombs.
Before crosses could be worn openly, Christians drew a fish. ΙΧΘΥΣ, fish in Greek, is an acrostic: Ἰησοῦς Χριστὸς Θεοῦ Υἱὸς Σωτήρ, Jesus Christ, Son of God, Saviour. Five letters, the whole Creed in seed form, cut into the walls of the catacombs by people who knew what confessing Him could cost.
"Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God."
— Matthew 16:16
The same five letters, stitched in white on a retro mesh-back trucker. Less danger for us. Same confession.
