NIKA Cross Beanie
Made to order for you, then shipped with tracking.
IC XC NIKA: Jesus Christ conquers.
Four abbreviations set at the corners of the Cross in Orthodox iconography. ΙϹ ΧϹ: the first and last letters of Ἰησοῦς Χριστός. ΝΙΚΑ: conquers. The same letters are pressed into the seal of every prosphora baked for the Divine Liturgy, so the Lamb that is offered carries them.
Not a slogan, and not a wish. NIKA is the present tense. The victory was won at Golgotha and sealed at the empty tomb. The Christian does not fight for it. He fights from it.
θαρσεῖτε, ἐγὼ νενίκηκα τὸν κόσμον.
“Be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”
John 16:33
ΙϹ ΧϹ and ΝΙ ΚΑ embroidered in white either side of a Byzantine cross, across the cuff of a black knit beanie. For cold mornings, early Liturgy and the walk to the gym in the dark.
