Panoplia was the full kit of a Greek heavy infantryman: helmet, breastplate, shield, sword. St Paul uses the word for what a Christian is told to put on every day.

On the back, Albrecht Dürer's engraving Knight, Death and the Devil (1513): a rider in full armour going on through the dark, with Death holding up the hourglass and the Devil behind him, and not turning his head.
